Getting wood with dad.

GETTINWOOD WITH MDAD.

The other day we went with my dad to the bush to get a little bit of fire wood. It was a nice day out in the bush, so quiet. Here's a photo of my dad, Maliah and I up on the side of a hill, we had to climb up there.

Family day.

FAMILY DAY.

My family and I went to the beach, it was a nice sunny day. We hadn't been to the beach in a long time. We even got to play at play grounds and we had a picnic lunch. We made home made ham buns, had chips, biscuits, baking and drinks. Kane even went down the slide and on the swing but with dad.

Family hand art!

This is our family hand art we all made together during the lock down.

BAKING WITH MALIAH

Mailah and I baked chocolate cupcakes together yesterday.
I really enjoyed being able to make them with her, also it was good how well we worked together as a team. I can't wait for the next time we get to bake together.
Here is a photo of our chocolate cupcakes all finished with icing on them, my other sister Keesha helped ice them once they had cooled down.

My independent writing.

Ducklings have webbed feet. They also have soft feathers called
a down and there down can be yellow or brown. People can have ducklings
for a pet. A male duck is called a drake and a female duck is called a
duck or a hen. Some ducklings live in trees and they jump out into the
water. Ducklings live in clean fresh water. Ducklings eat seeds, bread,
little fishes, berries, grapes, peas, corn, green beans, worms,
hard boiled eggs, snails. They also like to stay in the water and swim
around. Ducklings are the best because they have a cool life and they
are my favourite animal in the world. They also do not get their new
feathers wet. Ducklings can’t feel the cold water because they are
used to it. There are 48.4 million ducks in the world. Ducklings learn
new ways from its mum.

Stop entry into the West Coast.

I think putting roadblocks in is a good thing so it stops people that don’t live here coming
in because if they are sick they will spread the virus if they have it. I also think that only the people that deliver us what we need should be the only people that can pass the roadblocks. The roadblocks should be up till the virus has stopped spreading. The shops and schools could open if they did this too. We could all be safe on the West Coast.

LOCK DOWN IN NEW ZEALAND 2020.

On the 24th of March 2020 our Prime Minister said New Zealand was going into level 4 lock down in 24 hours time. Because of a virus named Coronavirus also known as Covid -19. It originated from Wuhan, China. The Coronavirus was spread from animal to human. It has spread all around the world to 210 countries and territories. It has been reported a total of 2,994,958 confirmed cases of people having the virus in the world. There have been 206,997 reported deaths. We in New Zealand have had 19 deaths, hopefully no more. Since the lock down started shops and schools had to close, while it was level 4. We’ve had to stay at home in our own ‘bubbles’. The only businesses open were essential services, being the gas stations, supermarkets, doctors and pharmacies. We’ve had to do our school work from home, online and the ministry sent some children home learning packs. Our class has morning meetings via video chat every week day, we get the weekend off like normal. We’ve enjoyed being at home, spending time together. We do miss our other family members and friends, we know this is not forever. It's just to stop the virus getting out of control and it seems to be working. We’ve had low confirmed cases lately. Yesterday we moved down to level 3. That still means we stay at home and keep our ‘bubble’ small.
